Meet Dr. Robert McCoy

Hi, I’m Dr. Robert McCoy. My journey in dentistry has taken me from Ventura to Virginia and back home again. I was born in Mexico and grew up with a strong connection to the Ventura community. I attended Ventura College and CSU Channel Islands before continuing my education at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where I earned my dental degree.

During my time in Virginia, I had the opportunity to participate in community dental clinics, providing free dental care to people in need. I have also volunteered at the RAMLA Clinic in Los Angeles. These experiences have been an important part of my journey as a dentist and reinforced my belief that dentistry is about more than treating teeth—it’s about helping people, building relationships, and making a positive difference in the community.

Today, I’m proud to serve patients and families throughout Ventura and the surrounding communities at McCoy Dental. The practice has been part of the Ventura community since 2005, and I’m honored to continue the work my father, Dr. Archie McCoy, began when he founded McCoy Dental. As a third-generation dentist, carrying on my family’s tradition is something I take great pride in, while also bringing my own approach to patient care. I believe in taking the time to listen, explain treatment options, and make every patient feel comfortable and cared for.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my dog, playing guitar, and running. I’m grateful to live and work in Ventura and to have the opportunity to care for the community I call home.
